Today was a pretty good day: WV Smoke Shop came through with:

* Bengal Slices White - 1.75oz Tin
* Missouri Meerschaum Lord Morgan Crumble Kake - 1.5oz tin
* Mac Baren HH Old Dark Fired - 2oz bulk
* Mac Baren HH Bold Kentucky Flake - 2oz bulk
* Arango Balkan Supreme - 2oz bulk
* Sutliff Balkan II - 1oz bulk
* Sutliff Christmas Spice Aromatic - 1oz bulk
tomorrow I expect a shipment from The Storyteller’s Pipe with another huge set of 2oz samples. Thanks be that I ordered a bunch of 8oz mason jars last week…
“Dear Google: Ken Byron Tobacco…” 🤔
Pipe Force II just arrived! Couldn’t contain myself and popped one of them open ASAP, (the lightest one - it still had nearly a gram over the stated 50g net, so very happy they’re all overweight). And, 1 of the 4 is 35g over the others, so has a 🪙 coin. Tin note is amazing!
June Compare & Share looks and smells great, too!
In order of appearance left to right:
1 Brazilian tradicional Rope. A crioulo version of tobacco, like an old strain. The leaves are not that big so the rope is thin. Around the rope you all can see a black layer which is tobaco natural molasse that reminds me what happen with perique. Inside it has a yellow/brown tobacco medium in nicotine and full of flavor. I use to take the first layer out due to its dificult to keep lit.
2 One of the newest Brazilian pipe tobacco released in the market. Mainly old dark fired burley.
3 Few packs of the most tradicional Brazilian tobacco pipe brand. Candido Giovanela: "Autentico" that carry a fruity casing/topping. "Maturado" that is a aged VaBur with toppings of cocoa liqueur honey. "Tradicional" that is a light cocoa/chocolate VaBur that i believe is the best seller of the brand.
None of them are mine and next week they gonna take the flight to @Ted home.
I want a T-shirt that says "Rauchen ist todlich"
...and I'm on holiday as of a couple hours ago....perfect.
At last I get to post in this thread. Although I shouldn't be because I'm now buying shit I can't afford. But anyway, it's all done now. This is the first post of a few that will come in the next week or so as packages arrive.
Anyway, went to the local B&M today to pick up some filters and couldn't help splashing out on a tobby I hadn't tried. I almost went for 1792 Flake, and kind of regret that I didn't because the reviews made it sound very mysterious and interesting. But I was put off by the purported strength so went for this instead... no idea about it but it's got good reviews ....
Yay - and lucky me, I got back from work and the first of two more packages has arrived already! It's come across Europe and I only ordered it a few days ago! Very fast!
They also included three samples of their house blends. They have done this in previous orders and I really liked their house blends on that occasion. I'm particularly looking forward to trying No.12 of this lot.
I've obfuscated the house blends names just because I'm actually not entirely sure how legit it is to do that, and I really really appreciate and respect this particular European online vendor and don't want to risk getting them in any trouble. If anyone wants to use them, send me a message and I'll link you. But they will ship all over Europe happily (again, not sure how legit that is, but they're awesome for doing so regardless).
So now with the Brown Flake from the post above, I've got not five, but eight different and entirely new-to-me tobaccos to try! This is one of the most fun things about the pipe hobby. Exciting times! 😊
P.S. I have to say, after opening them all and smelling the aromas, the ones that are the most interesting are actually the three house blends! None of them are aromatics, but each one has it's own different and unique smell. Very curious now.
This all just showed up.
When D&R says a pound, they mean a pound. Huge bag. Really nice toasted burley. I smoked this when it was fine cut cigarette tobacco before the tax change when everybody suddenly decided to be pipe tobacco. D&R stuff is good honest ribbon cut tobacco though. Smells nice and musty. I hope I like it as a mixing base. $21 a pound is hard to beat.
Another 8 ozs of Tuggle
Some revisits and gap filling of C&D stuff I never got to.
And hopefully a decent chocolate condiment blender between the two.
I'm anxious to try Crowleys and Odessa.
